ParkPunks Family-Friendly Film Series 2

We’re excited to present the second annual environmental (and family-friendly) film series at SIFF Film Center (167 Republican St.), beginning Tuesday, September 15 at 6pm with the independent, animated Ukrainian film Mavka: The Forest Song (2023).

Fiction teaches empathy. And many an environmental advocate has that movie they saw as a child that fostered their love of nature.

Environmentalists young and old, join us for a FREE screening (with RSVP). Because art and joy shouldn’t be cost prohibitive.

Make art. Clean our waterways. Find community.

Participate in International Coastal Cleanup day (9/19) with us at Commodore Park along the Ballard Locks. Or come make prints with us at Dabble Seattle (9/20).

It’s a quintessential ParkPunks weekend! No RSVP necessary.

Image is pale aqua blue on the left, and a deeper aqua blue on right. The left, titled "Commodore Park Beach Cleanup" at the top, says: "Join ParkPunks in participating in International Coastal Cleanup Day Saturday, 9/19 at Commodore Park. Pre-cleanup meetup noon at Lockspot Cafe (3005 NW. Locks Pl.)." The information is above an illustration of a crab with a little smile. He's "fighting" with the crab on the right over the ParkPunks logo. The crab on the right is done in a "printed" style, as though stamped. It's beneath the section titled "Environmental Printmaking Workshop." It says: "We're hosting a workshop Sunday, 9/20, crafting prints from found objects. Meet us at Dabble Seattle (306 N. 83rd Street) at noon. At the bottom is a logo: "Public free access supported by 4Culture." At the bottom left, another logo reads, "Powered by Shunpike."

Art. Nature. Community. Advocacy.

We create opportunities to make and experience art — and for Seattle artists to be experienced by their community.

We also clean parks. And advocate. And participate in mutual aid.

We believe in intersectionality, that the issues we face are interwoven. We know we thrive together.

This is reflected in our programming. One week we’re cleaning a local park, another we’re hosting a film screening and discussion, another a skill swap.

All events are free unless otherwise noted, RSVP encouraged for planning purposes. We believe strongly that art, nature and community should never be inaccessible due to cost, and are part of being human.

People carry buckets full of trash. The lighting and leaves on the ground say it's fall.
